"My ideal artist is someone who brings a bit of the magic of heaven down to earth by making it visible or perceptible. Meditation has allowed me time and again to touch a heavenly state of bliss and joy!"

Meditating for 20 years

Aradhana is a Landscape Architect by profession, who is also working to establish herself as a freelance artist. Originally Austrian she lives in the Czech Republic with her husband, who also enjoys meditating on a daily basis.

"Meditation has allowed me time and again to touch a heavenly state of bliss and joy. Expressing the bliss you are able to experience in meditation is again a different matter. It takes time to learn the handcraft and skills necessary for such creative expressions. Meditation gave me the discipline and dedication I needed. And the joy and love I felt in meditation gave me the inspiration."

"But the real key to creativity is thoughtless awareness - a state that you achieve in Sahaja Yoga meditation. It is a blessing that usually when I work on a sculpture or painting, I spontaneously reach that state. When I stop working on my project, doubts and self-criticism may cloud my mind, but when I sit down to meditate these thoughts evaporate and I am able to feel the joy emitted by whatever I created."
